Quite a large number of applicants appeared before the Board, but under the efficient management of chairman, S. M. Roof, the work is well in hand. The Board will meet again on the third Monday for final action. It i3 probable that the pension list will be 1 twice as large as it wa3 last year. The people who visit the town of Lexington at any time will find that P. H. Captain H. A. Spann, our former Clerk of the Court, was in town Monday. While now a resident of Leesville, Lexington holds a warm place in his heart and he is pleasantly remembered by its people. The Captain is Chairman of the Democratic party of Lexington county and in the discharge of the duties of this position, he will, we are glad to say, often visit this place where he will always receive a hearty welcome.
