The State dispensary has been furnishidg interesting reading for those who oppose the dispensary. This newspaper, as far as we are acquainted with the facts, is betUr satisfied with the law than ever before. The most objectionable feature of the system?the beer privileges? ha9 been abolished, and after Brst of next month the beer shops must close, and those who wish to drink beer must thereafter go to the State dispensers to buy it. But the most assuring fact lies in the determination of the Board of Control to free the system from all irregularities. For selling a bottle of liquor contrary to orders chief clerk Outz has been dismissed. For lack of precision in filling orders of dispensers, and in substituting one liquor for another, and for placing the labels of one brand on the bottle of another, and disre garding the xx's which indicated the the strength of the liquor, Commissioner Douthit has been removed. While we are sorry for the gentle The Presbyterian church of Ireland comprises GOO congregations ; and half a million people. The fact that the offence of the ; dispensary (fficials has been made j public, with no desire to conceal j anything, proves the determination j of the Board to discharge its duty, ! and that determination will command : public confidence in their integrity. One great good which will result ; to the pblic in this law, rests in the ; ! watchfulness of its enemies, who seek every opportunity to expose the i slightest irregularity. Thi3 watch- j fuloess is very gratifying to the j friends of the law. If the law is enforced in a slipshod way instead of the letter of the 1 j law, it might be brought into public ! contempt. Co the Editor of the Dispatch: Years have past since I have said my thing, and many of my predictions nade through your paper have been ealiztd, and now here is my plan ;o get 8 cents for cotton: Let the nerehants pay the farmers 7.V cents :or low grade and 8.1 ceDts for good jot'on. Bind the merchants that .hey must 0 cents for low grades ind 10 cents for good cotton when :hey sell to the mills, but let them je'l to their brother merchants at any price they with. You must not nike prices too high, as merchants nay have to hold cotton, and you Hust givo him a good profit. If a J farmer sells a bale of cotton to the " nills, or to a merchant who will net join you, make it so hot for him that lottos won't grow on his place. [f it should reach the point that the nerehants cannot hold any longer, lot them cry put to the farmers and let them have a year of jubilee, and . ( if any farmer plants a seed of cotton that year, make it disagreeable for bin, but I don't believe that it will > over reach the time for such a jubilee. The farmers will then know what he is to get for his cotton. The merchants will know what they are to pay and the prices at which they are to sell the mills. The mills will know what they must pay, manufacture better goods, and there will be - * At- 1 do up3 ana a owns in me prices 01 goods. The farmers will have more money and better goods; the mills will sell more goods, and pay better wages. The mills will only buy i what cotton they need as they use it, j will save insurance and storage; the merchants will sell more goods at greater profits, and can borrow a 1 the money they want. Let us try it. Yours truly, P. J. Rucker. Glorious News Comes from Dr. D. B. C&rgile, of Waehita, I. T. The doctors are unable to effect a cure, and their mineral mixtures are damaging to the most powerful constitution. The whole trouble is in the blood, and Swift's Specific is the only remedy which can reach such deep-seated blood diseases. Eczema broke out on my daughter, and con? tlnued to spread until ^ her head was entirely covered. She was treated fjBfF 1? by several good doctors, an sgg gm but grew worse, and the SfT ^ g dreadful disease spread f to her-face. She was . taken to two celebrated health springs, but r ceived no benefit. Many patent medicines were taken, but without result. until we decided to try S. S. S.,and by the time the first bottle was finished, her head t>egan to heal. A dozen bottles cured her completely and left her skin perfectly smooth. Shi is now sixteen years old. and has a magnificent growth of hair. Not a sign of the dreadful disease has ever returned. H. T. Shork. '2701 Lucas Ave., St. Louis, Mo. Don't expect local applications of soaps and salves to cure Eczema. They reach only the surface, while the disease comes from within. Swift's Specific SS.S.% Blood is the only cure and will reach the most obstinate case. It is far ahead of all similar remedies, because it cures cases which are beyond their reach. S. S.
