It will be well to bear this in mind. The Debate. Quite a large audience assembled gathered in the Temperance Hall last Friday to hear the debate on the query: "Resolved, That the Dispensary is preferable to Prohibition." The subject was discussed from all standpoints, and the affirmative and negative side were both well sustained. Unfortunately, however, it was arranged that the question should not bo decided, hence an expression of the views of those present could not be obta ined. Dramatic Recitations. Prof. Edwin Price and wife, who : coine highly endorsed by the repre- < sentative people of the country, will give a dramatic recital and vocal concert at Palmetto Institute tonight at 7-30, sharp. The proceeds will be given to the institute. Admission, adults only 25 cents, and chiidren 15 cents. Airs. .Price is a sister oi congressman Bowers, of San Deigo, Colorado, and a graduate of the Boston j Conservatory of Music, which is a { guarantee of the vocal part of the i concert. Conference of the churches in connection with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Tennessee. Business affecting the churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Tennessee Synod, require a conference of ber ministers and delegates from the several churches. In conformity to the power in me conferred, such conference will he held at Summit, in said county, on Saturday before the f>th Sunday in October inst.
