Wingate, N. C., and ltev. Dr.
Hatcher, of Atlanta, one of the

County Summer Schools.
Arrangements are being made
for the County Summer School,
which will begin on Monday,
June 20th. Wo hope to have a
more extensive course of study
than ever before, and it is our
, desire to mafco the school in
every way attractive and profitable.
Courses will be ottered
in all the common school branches
; but the State Superintendent
of Education insists that iiuchos'
Mistakes in Teaching, Civics
(embracing a South Carolina
Supplement,) Drawing and Primary
Methods bo made the prominent
features of the course.
Teachers will be required to
take these subjects, and may

The County Board will pay vO

levy of such tux during the lineal
year 1004, I heg to say thut it
does not, for the reason that the
net was not approved until February

March 16, at which timo the
period within which property
must bo returned had expired.
Section 2 of the aH required
that the dogs shall be returned for
taxution in the same manuer and
at the same time that the other
property is returned for taxtion,
and inasmuch as this-Vi-tun for the
year 1904 expired on February
20, prior to the approval of th?
act, it can not bo construed as
authorizing the levy of such tax
prior to tho year 1905.
