Chapman of Cross Hill was loading a parlor rifle Saturday afternoon last4 the gun was accidentally discharged, killing his S mooths old sister, who had just been put in her bed in the room a few moments before by the niuiuei. It was a deplorable tragedy and much sympathy is felt for the atllicted family. FOOTLESS NEGRO SENT TO JAIL. Laurens, Dec. 30.?The nils thoritiea of Cross,Hill, this county, haVe sent Henry Brown, a footless negro farmer of that section, to tho county jail to serve a sentence of 30 days for being drunk and disorderly and resisting arrest. Connellsville, Pa., Dec. 24.? 1 Rescue vjrork in the appalling accident on the Baltimore and Ohio road, which occurred at Laurel Run, a mile west of Dawson, at 7:45 last night, continued during the night.
