Escaped Convict v Hood Stewart, the negro who was convicted of manslaughter for the killing of Ed Hammond near Jackeonham, about a yoar ago and sentenced to the penitentiary for five years, has escaped and is now at largo. He made his escape from a farm in Abheville county. There is a reward of $25 or $50 for his capture and return to tho penitentiary. We understand that he has been seen in this county several times this week, near his old home. Kaininer' Witherspoon. At 5 o'clock p. m., last Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1903, in Rich land Presbyterian church of Gads don, S. C., Miss Linnio Katniner, j was united in marriage to Mr. i Marion Sims Witherspoon, at this \ place, ltev. Dr. Byrd, of Winns- j boro, performing the ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Herbert Kaminor, as maid of honor, and the groom by his cousin, Mr. J. T. Stevens, of Kershaw, as best man. The other attendants were: D. lleeco Williams of Lancaster with Miss Williamson of Darlington; John Crawford of Lancaster with Miss Kate Mooro of Columbia; Hazel Witherspoon of Lancaster with Miss Margaret Carrison of Camdam; Gcorgo Heath of Lancaster with Miss Connie Witherspoon, sister of the groom; Gilbert Green of Chester with Miss Emma Shannon of Camden. The chuicb decorations and costumes wore j elegant, aud iue marriage was at lenaoa r>y a large and fashionable assemblage of guests. Brown. ?Mrs. Margaret Truesde), wife of Mr. W. M. Truesdel, Flat Rock, died suddenly lost Tuesday evening of hemmorhage of the lungs. She was buried Wednesday at Bethany church, near Westville, after funeral services by Kev. V. LJ. Freeman, of Kershaw. ? Dr. E. C. Dickey, wifo and child, of Virginia, arrived inKoishaw last week to make this their future home. Dr. Dickey, who is a life time druggist, comes to act as prescription clerk und manager of Dr. J. E. W. Huile's drug business, as Dr. Haile will now devote his full time to the practice of medicine. Dr. Dickey is a son of the manufacturer of tho celebrated Dickey's eye water. Iteart Tills.
