Skipped By The Li?ht of The Stars. Hock Hill Herald. Harold Kdmond Lee, the mysterious stranger who came to ltock Hill about two weeks ago and who on account of his peculiar condition was placed in the Rock Hill I'rivate Hospital for treatment, left that institution Sunday night without saying goodbye or notifying any of its officers, llis condition had apparently iraprov od very much, having given a full account of himself. He wai from Lowell, Mich., where his mother lives with Mrs. Frank Kintr, a daughter. The mayor communicated by wire with Mrs. King and from her it was learned that Lee had presumably been in the employ of tho government, attached to tho U. S. S. Barry at Norfolk. A telegram to tha commander of that vessel brought tho information that the ship had lost a man bv the name of Lee. The day following a further commumca^ tiou was received from the commander of the Barry, giving a minute description of the lost Lee and it was complete of the stran^ ger Lee in the hospital, in that coiamumsation it was stated that laje had enlisted in the naval service at Detroit, Mich., in March last, that he had mysteriously disappeared from the ship on the 8th of October, and that a reward of twenty dollara would bo paid far his return on board the Barry. Aw that sum would not pay the railroad faro of Lee to Norfolk aDcl an officer there and return, the commander was notified, but no further communication was re-1 ceived. Meanwhile, Lee was in- , formed of the facts, when he de- I nied ever having been in the service of the govejnment in anyway.
