Sept. 7.?The county dispensary at Hampton was burned tonight about 8 o'clock. It is unknown how the fire originated. It is not possible from the appearance of the fire for it to havo been caused from an incen. diary. There was about $3,000 stock on hand. The building in which the dispensary was kept was owned by ex-Gov. McSweeney. There-was no insurance on the building. Col. Z. A. Searson, one of the dispensary inspectors, who happened to be in town this evening, states that the stock was insured for a small per cent, of its value. A Tit AO EL) Y IN Sl'ARTANUURU. Spartanburg, Sept. 9.?Miller McKiuney, a member of the lirm of Sloano & McKinney, merchants at Tucaupa mills, was shot and killed this afternoon about 3 o'clock by Harry Dean, son of Magistrate J. M. Deau of Dun can's. The tragedy is a most deplorable one, and the prominence of the families of both deceased and his slayer makes it the more regrettable. From what can be gleaned of the happening, it appears that a debt of $2.50 due McKinuey by Dean, caused tho killing. The two had entertained hard feelings for each other for some time, and the tragic sequel of this afternoon was the result. There seems to have been no eyewitnesses to the affair.
