A. Norwood, postmaster -at Walkersville, in Jackson township, and hisr family were at church, his house was broken into and about $18 in stamps and $10 in cash and soine clothing was stolen. Robertson, formerly of this county, which occurred at Durham N. C., Aug. 29th, 1903. Mrs R., was a daughter of Samuel Walkup, was about 40 *ears of age, and leaves her husband ami six childrcil surviving her. She was a member of the A. R. 1'. church and a good wo man. ller remains wore interred at Durham last Sunday. A'o saw people there from every section of this county Chesterfield and Kershaw, and the town of Lancaster was represented by about 200. The crowd numbered not loss than 3,000. A splendid band of music from Columbia was on hand'and Kershaw spread itself in the way of a big barbecue. 3,000 pounds of meats had been oxcellently barbecued, Mr. Dent, tif Columbia, having been engaged to do it, and 1,000 loaves of broad and several thousand biscuits had boon pro vidod. Hyatt "on good roads and how to get them were listened to with the utmost attention and the sound, practical suggestions made by them found lodgment in many minds.
