There has been a good deal of talk in cotton circles during the past few weeks of the part being played by a man named Brown, in New Orleans. This man Brown sent July cotton a few points higher at his homo town than it was in New York. lie was credited with being the main factor in the recent pheno.necial jump in cotton. "Mr. Brown," said a Charlotte cotton man yesterday, "is u wild Western Texan who struck New Orleans a few years ago with $30 in his pockets. Some years later, he devised $750,000 to his wife and going back to the market said: 'Hoys, I have kept out $250 with which to play tho market. You are welcome to it if you can get it.' Just how much this wild Texan has made in New Orleans is not known, but he can probably give a check today for $10,000, 000." This refers to the man Brown, who went to New York Monday, lie has played a conspicuous part in one of the most exciting chap tors in the history of the cotton business of the country.?Charlotte Obsorvor. ^ * A STAB.TZ.ZNa TEST To save a life, Dr. T.
