AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL TAX ON ALL DOGS FOUND WITHIN TllL LIMITS OF fllE TOWN OF LANCASTER. lie it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the Town of LuncaHter.in council assembled and by the authority of same. Sec. 1. That an unnnnl One Dollar is hereby assessed and levied against the owner of caeh dog or bitch kept witlun the corporate limits of said town to bo paid on or before Jany* 1st 1003, and on or before January 1st of each and every year thereafter. That upon payment of said tax, the owner of any dog or bitch shall bo furnished by the Chief of Police with n tag which shall bo immediately placed upon said deg or biteh by being attached to n collar. Sec. 2. That any dog or bitch found running at largo without the tag prescribed in Section 1 of this ordinance, shall be. seized and impounded by the officers of the town and unless the said tax of One Dollar, together with an additional amount of twenty-five cents for the tukini/ tin of ?ni<l <bw* n - ?' or hitch, is paid within thirty-six hours from time of seizure, then said do<? or hitch shall forthwith he killed.
