Whoreus it has pleased God in his wise providence to remove ' from this world our friend and sister Miss Ida Craig. Therefore wo wish to give expression to our sense of tho loss sustained by this society in her death. Sho will he sadly missed in all tho relations of life, but especially bv this orirani* zation of which bho was ever a consistent member. She was a young lady of tender fcoling and great kindness of heart. To those so sorely bereaved by her sad and sudden death, we weuld oiler tho comfort and hope of the Gospel, and we would most affectionately commend them to the sympathy and love of a divine Saviour. It is ordered that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of tho deceased with tho assurance that her memory will ever bo held in tho highest esteem by the members of this society. M aurico Broadus, who married I M iss Li I a Caldwell, formerly ofl the Phoenix section of this county, committed suicide in Richmond, Va., last week. lie was a student at Richmond college and did not appear with his classes on Monday. A strict search was instituted and his dead body was found on Thursday in a piece of woods near Richmond. He had committed suicide by inhaling chloroform. He placed two hand korchicfs in liis hat, poured the chloroform on them and then buried his face in tho hat. KILLED IN A OIN. Dillon, Dee. tf.?Mr. Peter McEaeliern was killed today at his homo near Hamer. It appears that he was personally attending to his gin and in endeavoring to clear the saws of souie obstruction lie was caught by them and horribly mangled. lie died from hemorrhage and shock before medical aid could reach him. Greenville, Dec. 11.?Yesterlay afternoon a shooting took place near the city, in which Robert Davis, Jr., lost his life, foung Davis and another boy, Shi* Levi, were hunting together, when Levi's gun went oil acciden;ally and the entire load of bird shot entered Davis' right side, missed through the lungs and odged in the left sido.
