He was senten. ce<l to pay a fine of $100. or go to the gang for five months. Hood Stewart, charged with mnrder, was found guilty of man slaughter and recommended to mercy. He was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary. Peter Phillips, charged with murder, was found not guilty. Walter Kelly, charged with mnrder was found guilty of man slaughter and recommended to mercy. Sentence, 3 years on chain gang or in penitentiary. LeeRolliogs and Wm Mc^ay. charged with attempting burglary. Verdict, not guilty. f , Anthony Cunningham and An drew Harris toere found guilty of house breathing and larceny. The former was sentenced to IS months on the gang and the latter 10 months. Wade and Ida Hagins pleaded guilty of manslaughter and were sentenced, the former to 35 years in the penitentiary and the latter to 5 years. in the Htato vs J. F. Griffin, charged with murder, the jury after remaining out all night fail, ed to agree on a verdict and a mistrial was ordered. Everett Cnreton pleaded guilty ot bouse breaking and larceny and was sentenced to 8 months on the Capers Cauthen and Ed Ballard charged with housebreaking and larceny, were being tried yesterday afternoon when we went to press. Seriously Injured by a Cow Mrs. Stephen Funderburk, an aged lady of the Tradesrille ses- ' tion, narrowly escaped being killed Wednesday by a cew with a young calf which Mr. Funderburk had purchased that day. She went eut te milk the cow and when very near her the cow ran at her striking hor in the ahdomen with one hern, knocking her down and breaking her left arm abore the wrist besides dislocating it at the elbow.
