A TV atery Grave. Special to The State. Keck Hili, Feb. 7.?The bedy of Jim Pettus, a collored boy who was drowned at the works, of the Catawba Pewer company several weeks ago, was seen yesterday. Tin power company hands were dragging a guy rope across the river when it caught upon something, which proved to be the body of the drowned boy. The tug of the guy brought the body to the surface and pulled it loose from the rope which its hands were gripping in the death struggle. The men for some reason or other failed to catch the body snd it floated on down the steam. The Tirzah dispensary made a sot of almost every di inking man who lived within a radius of three mil s. This was brought ahout largely by the treating of patrons of the dispensary who were on the, way home with their bottles. Woodward of Rockten, and his remain* were today interred in the burial ground at Rocky Creek Baptist church of which he bad been a member for more than half a century, a large part of the time in an official capacity. He was born Oct. 13, 1811.
