An Accidental Killing.

The State, 27th inst.
One of the county convicts was
killed accidentally yesterday afternoon.
The name of the dead
negro is Julius McLeod, but he
was better known as "Shirt."
The gang was working on the
Garner's Ferry road at a point
near the old convent?just beyond
Epworth?when a gun iu the
hands of a guard, H. Brockman,
was accidently discharged. The
load ef No. 2 shot took effect in
McLeod'e body. There were 20
perforations in the hody, and
death came almost instantly. The
negro screamed, "Catch me,
caich me qnick," and fell dead.
He was on the onnositn nid? of t.ha
road and fully 20 feet from Mr.
B rockman.
