The driving wheel in the spinning
room at lite cotton mill broke
early yesterday morning and
work h:i-* been suspended until
a new wheel can arrive vhich will

wheel is about "sewn feet in diameter
and the piece which broke
out of the rim was about IS inches

Shooting Scrape at Kershaw.
A shooting scrape occnred Friday
afternoon at. the cot ten platform
between Mr. Jetl Gregory,
the cotton weigher, and Mr. YV.
T. Catee, former policeman, in
which the Utter was shot through
the breast and seriously wounded.
The ball passed through the left
lung. We are unable to state the
exact cause of the shooting, but
it is the culmination of a difficulty
which occurred between them
several days ago. Mr. Gregory
fled immediately and while he baa
not yei been captured it is rumored
that he will surrender as soon
as the outcome of Mr Catoe'e
wound can 1>e definitely determined.
While the wound is dnnger ur
Mr. CatoA is d'bing well and
