Pittnmn, 1 died ut her home near the cotton mill. She was about 60 years of ape and leaves her husband and several children surviving her. C* Her remains were interred Thursday in the Town cemetery. Death of an Aged Lady. i Mrs. Mary Blackmon, widow of the late Joel D. Blackmon, of the Folk Hill section, died early yesterdav morning. The machin., ery of life uirnplv gave out. She was 85 years of age, having pass ed her 85th anniversary the day before. She leaves tive children surviving her, viz: Win Blackmon. Mrs. W. C. Ellis, Mr. M. A. Biacknion, Mrs. Ben. E. Blackmon, and Miss Tildy Blacknv?n. She was a member for nijuiy years of Fork Hill Baptist church and her remains will be buried there today after seivices by her pnstor, Rev. J udson Blackmon. m m r Left Home and Carried off Two Children The Charlotte Observer of 11th says: A man named Graham, from Kershaw, S. C., was here yesterday, looking for his brother's wife, Alice Graham, who left her home last Monday, taking her brother-in law's child, a girl, 11 years old, and a neighbor's child, a bey 7 years old, with her. She left Kershaw with the children on foot. No reason is known for her depaiture from home, nor is it known why she took the children. The parents of the missing children are greatly wrought up over the affair. No trace of them was found in Cbrlotte. The University of North Carolina. The last session of the University was the most prosperous in 1 its history and ever . thing points to an increased prosperity and usefulness during the coming session. The faculty has been greatly strengthened by the edition of eight new teachers, making forty three in all.
