B Barron returned home Monday from Baltimore where she has been with her brother, Mr. H, J. Hickson, since he went to the Johns-Hopkins Hospital for treatment. Mr. Hickson, we are glad to learn, is much better, having almost fully recovered from the operation he underwent. Prof. Moncreiff, who is in charge of the county summer School at this place, by invitation of the County Boyd of Education will deliver a lecture in the court house lo-niorrow night at 8:30 o'clock. V, n IUIIU|| U?UJ Miss Ida Belk, daughter of Mr. dames Belk of the Unity section, died last Sunday after a protracted illness. She was about 36 years of age and was a young lady highly esteemed in the neiahborhood where she lieed. She was a member of the Baptist Church and bad been the organist for some time. Her remains were interred at Camp Creek Baptist church on Monday afteraoon. Sudden death of Mrs M J Fun derburk. Mrs. Maniza Funderburk, daughter of the late Nathan Funderburk aBd wife 0f Mr. M. J. Funderburk of this place, died i rather suddenly at her home last Saturday morning of heart trouble. She was forty years of age and was the mother of elevea ohildren, eight of whom survive her. She was a member of- the Baptist Church and was a good christian v/oman. Her remains were interred Sunday morning at the new cemetery, after a funeral service by her pastor, Rev. S. N. Watson. The husband and surviving children of the deceased have the deepest sympathy of their friends in their sore bereavement. i ATottce of Election of Primary ! Teacher for Graded School. J E Stewman After a protracted illness, Mrs Elizabeth C Stew man, wife of ou esteemed townsman, Mr. J. E Stewman, died at her home her last Sunday abont noon. Sheluu been ill for two years and for th< past six months had been confine* to her room. The cause of deatl was dropsy, Mrs. Stewman was a daughtei of the late J. G. Denton and wai born July 4, 1840. Had she livec until the 4th of next month sh< would have been 81 years of age. She leaves one son, J. A. Stew man, and a step-daughter, Mrs. R. I'. Horton, surviving her. Also three brothers and two sisters, viz: Alex M. Denton of Alabama, Thos. B., and Wm. J. Denton ot Camden, Mrs. Thomas Coatesand Mrs. Wm. Coates of Kershaw county. To the bereaved relative; we extend our deepest sympathy. Mrs. Stewman was a consistent member of the Methodist church for a number of years prior to her death. She was an excellent lady and enjoyed the friendship and love of all who knew her. She bore her sufferings wlthoul a murmur and1 died in the full hope of the reward that await; the faithful unto death.
