west of the Hickson lot. Charley
Benson, col., got his throat cut i
almost from ear to ear by another
negro, Hex Sims. The facte of .
the homicide au Wrought out at the

afternoon by Magistrate Caskev, I

Mr. Bellinger, the contractor who
is doing the gradiug at the new
factory site, had a room rented
from Mr. VVylie aud be had shav~

on the floor and expirsd. Banson
was about 25 years old, unmarried,
and had only recently re
turned te Lancaster after an absence
of several yaara. He haa
figured in one or two little town
council caaea siiice he returned.
Sims, the utgro who did the
killing, gave hinasolf up to Sheriff
Hunter shortly after the homicide.
