Another Case oi'Smallpox Mr. Wallace of the Newcut section, who was reported as hav> ing smallpox last week, is getting on verv wall and no new cases have d? * o oped in that locality. On S. nd.sy, however, Drs. T J Strad ???d W M Crawford were sent 10 see a case of supposed smallpox on the Hough place? seven miles west of rown. Henry Cousar, a negro, who had been off working on a railroad, came home and took what was thought to be measles, hut. what ha* Uirn?#l out to be a had case of smallpox. The darkies of the neighborhood all visited him up to Sunday when the physicans above namo l were called in and pronounced it smallpox which the negro had. THE GOVERNOR NOTIFIED. On, Monday, Sheriff Hunter wired Got. Mcsweeney as follows: "Two undoubted cases of small pox i.i the county, each about nine mile# from town. No county board of health. Advise immediately what action to prerent spreading." Governor Mci.weeney answered as follows: "1 have wired Dr. Jams* Evans of Florence, S C, as to smallpox in your county." Later Dr. Evans was heard frons. Drs. Strait and Crawford are in charge of the case. A strict quarantine has been ordered and every one who has been exposed will be vaccinated. Dr. Crawford received thnnt 10O * ?> cine point* yesterday. Vaccination and strict quarantine arc the best methods of preventing the disease spreading.
