AFTER JOHN BUSTER Negro Charged With the Uaual Crime. Special to Greenyille News. Westminster, S. C., March 20. ?John Hunter, s negro laborer on the farm of J E Con well, Ht Lavonia, Ga , is charged with attempting to criminally assault the little tour years old daughter of M Cenwell on last Saturnay. The negro was caught soon af ter the attempt and tied to to a tree by Con wall end two of his labors# hut for aome reason he has eot shot or lynched at ottee hut w is guarded until shout dark by which time about two or three hundred people had gathered around him. It was evidently the intention sf the crowd t"> lynch the negro but there were a few cool heads who prevailed on them to let the law take its course and the negro managed to make hi* escape. He was thought to he securely tied and was then placed ia a carriage with a chain around his neck and attached to the axle, in 1 charge of three men, J E Conwell J F Conn, and Vf H Addington, who started with him to Hartwell jail about ten miles distance.
