HomlcUle Saturday Night. Saturday night last at the stcro of Walters Bros, near the cotton mill, Mr Will Evans, aged about 20 years, a son of Mr John Evans, was shot and instantly killed by Mr George Eubanks. The ball took effect in the loft side of the head just above tho ear. The young men wore both employees ftt the mill, about the mme age, and are said to have been good friends prior to the difficulty, which terminated so sadly and brought such sorrow into the homes of the families of the two. It seems that .a brother of Evans and young Eubanks becamo involved in a quarrel about some unimportant matter when Win Evans, who was standing in the back door of the store whittling with his pocket knife and listening to the services at the tent, was told of it and asked to stop it. He interceded and became involved in tho quarrel himself. After some words passing, and a fight seeming imminent, we understand they wero ordered out of the store, and about this time, we are told, the shot was fired. Evans jumped straight up and dropped to the floor dead Eubanks went to his boarding house, whore later he was arreatod by Deputy Sheriff Wilson and taken to jail. Coroner Young held an inquest OVGr tllM hnrlv iKaf r*ir?K? ??wl - ? -w?.J Mini Hid jury found that deceased came to his death at the hands of Euhanks.
