A Negro .Mail Burned l*|> In a House On Saturday night last a small house in Mr. lT A Funderburk's yard, near Taliernacle, was burned and Millen Walker, a young colored man about 22 years old, was burned up in it. It is not known how the tire originated, but it is supposed that the negro went to bed leaving a big tire burning and that after he fell asleep a stick of wood rolled out on the Hour, or, else that fire popped out into his box of clothing, which he kept at one side of the tireplace. Mrs. Funderburk was awakened between 0 and 10o'clock j by a noise which she told her husband Mounded like a buggy I coming up into the yard. Mr. j F., got up pulled the curtains back and looked out into the yard when he discovered the email house only about twenty steps from his dwelling, afire. He ran out to the house, called Millen a time or two and receiving no answer knocked open the door when the interior of the room about the door seemed all atire and the flames burst out from the upper part of the door. .lust then he hoard a sound as if Miller had jumped out of bed and the next instant he heard him fall to the floor and caught a glimpse of hit* leira from th? tnoo. ? - - - ? V?< ?MV nu?vn uu *T II ftp he was falling. The poor darkey never uttered even a cry. The buretiog of the door doubtless partly awakened him and caused him to spring out of bod to his feet.
