After the preaching service all went to their homes or to the homes of their neighbors and friend* to fea-t upon turkey and all the other got id things that always weight down the tablet of our generous-hearted people. Also about 5 o'clock in the evening the well known sounds of the Academy hell were heard inviting the patrons and people generally to assemble at the Academy to enjoy a rare treat, in the way of a most enjoyable supper 1 and entertainment given by the school. Your correspondent when ar riving at the academy found that ' a gicat number hid already pre ceded him and continued to come 1 until unite a large number had 1 taken their places in the '.arge and commodious school room. \bout half past six the house was called to order by Prof Walter lielU, the supper having been previously spread, a blessing was pronounced ?>v Rev Alan McFarIan, after which the congregation 1 wa?, seated and were served by several ladies and gentlemen, who its,! been appointed by Mr and Mrs Belk, teachers of the school.
