A special dispatch to the Baltimore Sun from Raleigh, N C? gays: Money is being raised by the Daughters of the Confederacy and by camps of veterans in aid of Mrs Stonewall Jackson, who is needy, in very poor health and almost blind, at her home at Charlotte. She is said to be suffering from an incurable disease. One chapter of the daughters has already raised f7<>0 for her. Bananas Growing at Allendale. Special to The State. Mrs Jno G Williams has had a .wi? plant growing in her yard for seven years, hut each winter it has been killed to its roots. Last fall she covered it over with earth, and now it is over 10 feet high and has a large hunch of bananas which arc from three to five inches in length, hanging fioni the top.
