James Latham, the young man who was shot yesterday by his brother, Wade Latham, died today. C C Moore, acting coroner, held an inquest tonight. The evidence showed that James Latham and W T Latham had got into a row in the stable. Wade, who had charge of the stable, took hold of James and tried to lead him out. James slung ?Vade around and started back at W T Latham, who drew a pistol and told him to stand back. Wad? grabbed the pistol out of the hands of W T Latham- James then turned upon Wade and snapped his pistol at him twice. Wade then fired and the firing became general. James was hit in the right side, the ball going through the liver and intestines and coming to the akin on the other side. The evidence seems *o show that it was a clear case of self defense. The jury found a verdict in accordance with the above facts. The defendant will be placed under ar< rest tonight. BAIL GRANTED. Camden, June 7.?Mr W D Tract ham, attorney for Wade Latham, who shot and killed his brother James Latham, made ap plication to Judge Buchanan for bail tenight. "It appears that the sight of the wriggling contents of the bottle so excites the appetite of the finny tribe that they fall easy victims to the baited hooks."
