And though there's lota of girls about, And Home to milt I tlml, I don't know how it in, I'm sure? I can't make up my mind. Mian Jones?she's too particular, I very plainly see, Anil if I staved out late at night, She'd take away the key. Miss Brown is rather more the thingShe's tender and kind, , But still there's something, and in short 1 can't make up my mind. Miss Tompkins p'raps I might think of, But there I linve some douht, TIk/ suv if thwarted she will sit All day at homo and i>out. Miss Smith will t>c a better sj>ee, iler purse I've heard is lined, But then shesquints. <>li,dear I can't? I can't make up my mind. Miss Julia lias a lovely eve, Would any heart inflame, But, when we took a walk one day, I found out she was lame. There's Sally who inviting me, With her I went and dined, But gracious me!?to see her eat? I can't make up my mind. Now full of smiles there's Fanny, Who would I think give Iiojh', Only I've an awful fear She never uses soap. Once 1 thought of Dinah, hut "Pis said she never shlned, And to have a stupid wife, I can't make up my mind. What shall I do??or how decide? There was once an itinerant preacher in West Tennessee, who. possessing considerable natural eloquence, had gradually become possessed of the idea that lie was also an extraordinary liiblical scholar. I'm dcr this delusion, he would very frequently, at the close of his sermons, ask any member of his congregation who might have u "knotty text" to unravel, to speak It, and he would explain it at once, however much it might have tioublcd"less distinguish* ed divines.1' On one occasion, in a large audience, he was particulary pressing for some one to propound a text; hut no one presuming to do so, he was about to sit down without an op|Mirtunity to show Ida learning, when a chap back by the door announced he had a liibla matter of great "coneorn, which he desired to be enlightened upon." The preacher, quite aimatedly, professed his willingness and ability, and the congregation was in great excitement. "What I want to kqow,11 said the outsider, "is whether Job's turkey was a hen or gobbler." The t'ex-: pounder" looked confused, and the congregation tittered as the questioner capped the climax by exclaiming, in a loud voice : "1 fotched him down on the fust ri r .1 - ,!
