C,, as early this full us arrangements can be made to issue it. The main leading object of the paper will be to ndvnnce the cause of Temperance, and especially to build up the Order of the Sons of Temperance, believing this to be fho organization at present that embraces the entire State in the scope of its operations, and far more systematic, efficient and powerful than any liuman instrumentality that has yet been devised for the accomplishment of whnt all similar associations propose?the reformation of drunkards, the suppression of intemperance and the systematic training of the rising generation in hi bits of strict sobriety. To indicate unmistakcably the purpose of this paper, it will be called 4,Tiie Soutii Carolina Son of Temperance." The offices of the M. \V. P. of the Sons of Temperance of North America, and the (irand Scribe of the (irand Division of South Carolina, locuted at present where this paper is to be issued, besides being in a community of strong,.leading,intelligent, active, well-informed Sens of Temperance, e.xtraixdinojy facilities will be enjoyed for rendering the paper nil tlist the Order could iesire.
