Notice of Election on Bond Issue for Edgefield County WHEREAS, The Legislature of this State, at its regular session for the year 1920, passed an Act-"To provide for a Highway Commission for Edgefield County, defining its duties, and to provide for the holding of an elec tion for the issuing of five percent coupon bonds for public road con struction in Edgefield County, and to provide a sinking fund for their retirement." AND WHEREAS, In and by the provisions of said Act, the said Highway Commission were directed, as soon as practicable, to decide what roads in said County (shall be constructed and improved, .and the character of the roads to be built, with an estimate of the cost of such work, and file in the Office of the Clerk of the Court a sketch or drawing showing what roads of the coun*- the proceeds of the bonds [will be first expended upon, and mak? a report to the Supervisor of ?the County of the costs of such con struction and improvement. AND WHEREAS, In and by the provisions of said Act the Supervisor of the Coun ty, upon receiving such report an estimate, was empowered and in structed to order an election to held on Tuesday, August 31st, A. D 1920, at the usual voting places in Edgefield County, upon the question of issuing five per cent coupon bonds of the County to the amount of the estimated cost of the work plannec and reported to the Supervisor by the members of the Highway Com mission of Edgefield County; pro vided, the total amount of said bond issue shall not exceed the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars.
