Until my office is permanently es tablished, the date and location of which I shall shortly advise the pub lic, all calls for my service will please be left at the home of Mrs. J. L. Mims, who has kindly volunteered to deliver all messages. Said services consist of Prenatal Advice, Teaching the Mothers how to care* for the ba bies, Artificial feedings and going to the home and showing how to care for the sick. In case of contagion or tuberculo sis, will teach how to isolate and fu migate, and how to protect other members of the family. In short I shall be glad to respond to all calls relating to health and hy geme anywhere in the county. Grace. G. Brumbaugh, Public Health Nurse. Foot Accidently Shot. Mr. M. W. Hudgens had the mis fortune to shoot his right foot acci dently Saturday. He went on horse back to Mr. L. M. Johnson's mill to order some lumber and took his gun along with him. He dismounted to shoot a bird and after reloading again mounted his horse, throwing his gun across the front of his sad dle. The horse stumbled, causing the gun to fall over to one side and in his effort to catch the gun it was dis charged. The load struck his right foot between the small toe and the one next to it. The hole or wound on the top of his foot is comparatively small but when the shot struck the sole of his shoe after passing through his foot, it seemed to rebound or spread, lacerating the ball of his foot considerably. While the wound is very painful and it will be some weeks before he can walk again, yet it could have been so much worse that Mr. Hudgens' friends are delight ed that he did not sustain more se rious injury. Had the gun pointed at a little different angle it might have j torn off his foot. He is doing as well as could be expected. The Holland-Parker Fire. Mr. E. J. Norris, Agent, Edgefield, S. C. All persons owning property of any kind whatsoever, or in any capa city, as husband, guardian, executor, administrator or trustees are requir ed to make returns of the same to the Auditor under oath within the time mentioned below and the Auditor is required by law to add a penalty of 50 per cent to all property that is not returned on or before the 20th day of February in any year. * All male citizens between the ages of 21 and 60 years except those ex empt by law are deemed taxable polls.
