Well myself and a por tion of my family took dinner with Mr. Sam Cheatham. Yea, Sam ('heatham, Edgetield Sam, hone.\ Sam; >es, he raine? honey yet and sweetens his coffee with it So 1 thought that it wouldn't do for Sam to get ahead of Uncle Iv, so I pm nome hooey in my coffee too but also put in a pretty good chnnck ol cheese. What did we have for din uer. Well now were I to tell all tip different kind? of food I am afraid it would cost you something for there uouid not be as much space for adversing. Both of H. W Dobey's daughters were there. Oh yes I forgot we had goose for din ner a fattened goose, not one caught up from the Huck and killed, no sir a goose fattened like a pig. Was the goose good? why sir I now feel like raying hunk kunk, but I am rather afraid Tor fear I might want to fly. Hut there wa9 something thai made me feel sad. Mr. Cheatbam'i ?on Charlie, has gone to Asheville, N. C., to be treated for eonsump tion and his mother has gone to b with him for awhile. Hov am I pleased with my move? All riKbl so lar. Haven't regretted it yet and see no reason why I .diould if we keep our health. Yes, I expect to have some cotton thi> \ ear and ai? a proof of it I have found a hue about fifteen or eighteen inches wide and sharp too so I don1! mess I can go barefooted this sum mer or I might be minus a toe. Oh yes, I forgot but tha reason I did was because I am an old man md have a wife on the road which m two and a half miles to Mr. Cheathatn's would not seem more than a mile. Why? because there ire two as fine looking girls there is I have mi t in Georgia or left up' where I came from, and not only line looking but so friendly and *uch good cooks. Can't you send down ? couple of Edirefield boys? I don't feel like I want anybody but an Edgetield boy to win them for his housekeeper. Lucky bo,\ that does, but Mr. Editor you need not tell everybody what I have said, or the Georgia and Florida railroad will have to attach an ex ti ? coach to bring the boys donn here. What kind of cows, hogs, horses, ? miles, sheep and goats have they 'own here Well n?r some as go??d of every kind that there is any where, but ul course now and the.v vou see a hog with its tail nearh reaching the ground and a few co?> i hat those who know t<ay will give from a pint to a quart of milk a lay. And rivera that dry up in the 4 'mrrpT bm in the lauer pari ol the winter get from fifty to one hundred yards wide, aud while in this swollen condition quantity ol fishes come up from the large riven? and during the summer montbi those who know say you can dip . hem out with a net a mess ala dip. Well, I tfliess that pooae is about digested and 1 had better say good ?tight, but regards to all. my Edge field frieuds. When I am here awhile onger I will see about the coons in he swamps.
