Mrs. Cantelou entertained her
friends among the married ladies
with an elegant card party, and

on Saturday morning. The first
prize was won on Thursday after
noon by Mrs. R. A. Marsh and
the second prize by Mrs. H. A.
Smith. Ou Saturday muming the
first prize was awarded to Miss
Madge Mays and the consolation
priz'to Miss Maxcie Sheppard.

Executive Committee Meeting.
In response to the call of Coun
ty Chairman B. E. Nicholson,
nine mejibers "of the county ex- .
ecutive committee met on Wed-f
nesday last. The campaign meet
ing at Parksville was by request
cancelled, as the date conflicted
with the annual protracted meet
ing at that nlac3.
Capt. N. G. Evans introduced
a resolution to tba effect that's

hibition." After much discussion
pro and con, it was adopted by a ,
vote of five io two. The resolution 1
was opposed by some members of .

there being uiueteen members of
th:- committee, this issue has been
forced upon tbe people, without
auy previous intimation that such
was contemplated. The matter was
not act>'d upon by a quorum, only
9 of the 19 members being precent
