We can supply the comfort by selling you one of our up-bolstered cnairs EDGEFTHLD MERCANTILE COMPANY. Mr. R. L. Dnnovant. the popu lar manager of the Penn Drug Store, dirplayed excellent taste and splendid judgment in the purchase of his holiday goods in Baltimore in the early summer. Their great variety, surpassing beauty and remarkable cheapuess have been the marvel of the shop pers that are already crowding the stoie, notwithstanding the fact that Christmas is yet more than two weeks in the future. The beautiful dolls from tbret; cents to $1.50, the novel toys, the bric a-brac, vases, lamps, very delicate and beautifully designed china and hundreds of other things too numerous to mention are being admired by the throng that daily frequents the store. One thing is conspicuously noticable about the holiday goods at the Penn Drug Store and that ?R their cheapness When old Santa Claus m ak FR his purchases there, this store being hie Edgefield headquarters, he will get full value for his money. Just received a car load of "Old Hickory" and "Blue Grass" wagons and two car loads of "Rock Hill" and "Hackney" buggies. We waut to sell you. RAMSEY & JONES Consumption is a human weed flourishing best in weak lungs. Like other weeds it's easily destroyed while young; when old, sometimes im possible. Strengthen the lungs as you would weak land and the weeds will disappear. The best lung fertilizer is Scott's Emulsion] Salt pork is good too, but it is very hard to digest. The time to treat consump tion is when you begin trying to hide it from yourself. Others see it, you won't. Don't wait until you can't deceive yourself any longer. Begin with the .first thought to take Scott's Emulsion. If it isn't really consumption so much the better; you will soon forget it and be better for the treatment. If it is consump tion you can't expect to be cured at once, but if you will besrin in time and will be rigidly regular in your treat ment you will win. Scott's Emulsion, fresh air, rest all you can, eat all you can, that's the treatment and that's the best treatment. We will send .you a little of the Emul sion free. * Pe nure that this picture in the form of a label 13 ol) the wrapper of every bottle of Emulsion you buy. SCOTT & BOWNE, Chemists, 409 Pearl St., N. The work of repainting and re newing our already beautiful Methodist church has been com pleted. Not only did Rev. Maivin Auld superintend the work, seeing that it was well done, but much of it was done with his own hands. The beauty of the church has been greatly enhanced by placing a very handsome uew carpet upon the floor. The pastor and his de voted flock are lo be congratulated upon the mauuer in which they have improved-their houso of wor ship. In making a list of your Christ mas purchases that are to gladden the hearts of friends aud loved ones, bear in mind the many beautiful th ii TS that are on dis play on the second floor of the Edgefield Mercantile Company's store. On the first floor of this large establishment will be found in great abundance the delicacies ot the season that will regale the in uer mai: and on the second floor, which is in charge of the compe tent aud courteous Mr. A. A. Glover, will be found hundreds of things that will beautify, bright en and a d to the joy and com fort of the home. Tn announcing the names of those who attended thu state Bap tist convention in Chester last week we omi!ted the names of 0. Sheppard, Esq., and Col. F. N. K. Baile}'. As moderator of ""the Edgefield association Mr. Shep pard was made happy to know that this was one of the four as sociations to exceed their oppor tionmeut in the contributions'to the Connie Maxwell Orphanage. In contributing to the work of state missions the Edgefield asso ciation also measured up to what was expected of it. Thia should encourage and inspire those who compose this association to do oven greater things during the next convention -year. At every hand there is abundaut evidence of how God is blessing the people of our county in a material way. and the people should show their gratitude by contributing liberal ly of their substance toward the furtherance of His cause. 31 rs.
