If a remedy i3 much longer delayed, we very much fear its troubles rill be beyond remedy, If lhere is anything which society and governments should fear more than another, it is the ven geance of a people goaded to desperation, ard ' that point is well nigh reached by the South ern people.. -Startling, intelligence of mur derous-cobspiracies, secret societies whose ob jects are assassination and insurrection, mut terings, and- aggressive defiance everywhere noticeable among the people-all go to show forth a" stateof t?ngti very-r?m?te ftotrr peace. Radicals have turned th? Sos th into a howl ing waste and they will soon find it inhabited by wild beasts. Our word for it, soldiers must soon be dispatched to- the South, and when they-get there, there-* will be plenty of work for them. The next presidential elec tion will provo either the death of radicalism, or the birth bf a gigantic '.rebellion to which the last '?rill approximate in magnitude but as a child to a giant. Scorned by- tea millions at the North, scorned by ten millions at the South, a cowardly minority, less than one third of the citizens "of .the country, cannot perpetuate a despotism like the present. We most earnestly hope that wisdom may enter the fiendish bram of Radicalism and arouse it to a sense of "the,, common danger. If a radical Candidate is elected next November we will have war as sure as a fr 'e. Radi calism means despotism, it mear- Jest h to our institutions and our laws, and ff the peo ple will not he allowed to defeat it at * the polls, they will summon it to the field. Every State in the North will have- out the militia, the South will be in arms, and the two sec tions of the Democratic party uniting will make short work of the besotted; feud, and put a quietus on their devilment. Radicals fighting ! The thought excites a smile. Rad icals make good camp-followers, they talk well, they preach well, they pray well, they steal well, they play tyrant well, but they don't fight well. Butler and Fremont- and Banks and Hunter may do very well stealing cotton, or insulting women, or running off slaves, or prating loyalty ; but they never showed themselves much fighters. The most of them got rich by the late-war ; they may have a chance of losing it in the same game. Radicals fighting ! If the South were in arms to-morrow you could notvenJist ten thou sand to cross the Mason and Dixon line. There are no more pianos or silver-ware at the South and Radicals don't relish fighting, if you take the stealing out. Radicals fighting ! The blood hounds of Andersonville would keep an army of them at bay until they starved. Radicals fighting ! It would not take the united force of the opposition twenty four hoars to hang them, make their coffins and bury them. When war was waged on the South we had a brave people to contend^i&k? It took our armies four years to overcome them. But they were overcome. An army of loyal pol troons, however great, will never fight but one battle, and that battle ended, radical loy alty will never live to see another. We must have war, because the people cannot longer tolerate such a peace as we have now. If the ijame generous treatment were employed towards the South that is em ployed towards the Indians, the case would be materially improved. Conciliation,-prom- j jses-stipulation,-entreaties arc used with the Indians; insults-outrages of the most galling kind are heaped on our brethren of) the South. Why this difference? The In dians have no votes that the Radicals wish to kill.
