WHEREAS information has bean communi cated to this department, that a bold and outrageous robbery was committed upon the per sonsoftheclorksof J. Sulzbaoher A Co.,merchants, at Chesnut Hill, in Edgofiold District, and that money and property was forcibly carried away from tho said store, in tho night time, by at least eight persons, supposed to be white, and all ef forts to take the said partios having - heretofore proved fruitiest : Now, know je, that I, JAMES L. ORR, Gover nor and Commandor-in-Chief in and over the State of South Carolina, to the encl that the said robbers and outlaws may be broug'it to trial and condign punishment, do hereby offer a reward of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for thc arrest, with proof to convict the said parties, and a propor tionate amount of that sum for the arrest and safe delivery of one or more.
