NEW YORE, July 12.-Three cases cholera in the last twenty-four hours, but none fatal. Three in Brooklyn-two fatal. Roberts, the Fenian President, was indic ted, by the grand jury, for violation of the .neutrality laws. The Mozart Hall Democracy endorse the Philadelphia Convention, and will send dele gates. Pending the discussion of tho Tariff Bill in the House, an amendment highly impor tant to the South was adopted. Tua amend ment suspends so much of the Direct Tax im posed by the Act of 18G1 as now remains un collected, said suspension to last till Janua ry, 186S. The prospects for the passage of the new Tariff Bill are considered doubtful in the House, and the same in the Senate. It is state'd by General Grant's friends that he will not in my event bc a Presidential can didate in 18C8, and he substantially agrees with thc President on thc subject of Southern representation.. Gen. Grant has ordered a squad of cavalry sent to Loudon County, Ya, It is alleged that there have been outrages on freedmen, and civil law has failed to punish the guilty or protect the blacks. Two gentlemen from Missouri called on the President yesterday, aHd informed him of deep laid schemes on the part Of the radicals to carry the Missouri election by force of arms ff necessary. Secret leagues were organized, the militia armed, and arms shipped to vari ous portions of the. State by Gov. Fletcher for the purpose ni influencing the election. The President assured the gentlemen that, as it wa.s his duty to protect all cilizens in the en joyment of. their rights, it' Would only be ne cessary, in case o? 3uch outrages, for the citi zens to apply to him. WASHINGTON*, July 14.-The Senate has been et.gaged in no business of general inter est. The House had up tho report on the Rousseau-Grinncli case but without coming to a vote adjourned. The nomination of Alex. W. Randall as Postmaster General was sent to the Senate. There are seventy-one mil lions in the Treasury vaults. The President has accepted Dennison's resignation. Quite a contest is understood to have arisen over the conflict of opiuion between Stanton and the President, relative to the construe tion of what is. known as the Peace Procla mation. Stanton claims' that the writ of Ha l#aj Corpus is still suspended in South Caro lina, and that civilians held under sentence by General Sickles' court-martial should not be turned over to the civil authorities. The notorious John S. Mosby, who was j during the war the terror of the country hereabouts, is now a sojourner ia this city and quietly walking about tho Capital, the observed of the curious. Mosby is a quiet, tame looking individual, and has not the slightest appearance of a bugaboo, . or one who would try to frighten anybody. -? ? ?
