Boyce's Letter to President Davis? From the Sottih Carolinian we are pleased to extract- the following article*, commenting on and dissenting from the views set forth by the Hon. Mr. BOYCE in his late letter to President DAVIS. It is right and proper that the constituents of Mr? B. should speak out, if they entertain views different from those disseminated by him, and surely not one in every hundred of the high-toned peo* pie of that Congressional District agree with Mr. BOY? as to tte propriety of bolding a Convention of all th? States in order to bring about a reconstruction of the Union : . MESSRS. EDITORS : I have read for the first time, this morning, Mr. Boyce's letter to the President, and regret that such sentiments and opinions should aver go forth to the world from South Carolina. That State which, for more tias thirty years, ha? so nobly restated the usurpations and unjust legislar ;on of the Federal Government; that State which, when all hope was lost of remaining longer in the Union, had the intelligence and nervo to secede, and has ior nearly four years so glo riously offered np the blood and lives of ber noblest sons ia defence of our dearest rights. Without having the means of knowing pos itively the Opinions ol the. people of South Carolina, I will oay that I do uot believe thar there is one in every hundred of the men in this State, who would or who do approve of the views taken by Mr. Boyce inlhis.letter. - The Coufe-ierate Government but done all sd that a Government do coitaiKtently with honor and sell respect, to prevent a war; and ellice the war commenced, they have done all in their power to secure a peace. McClellan; proclaims a course or policy tlat bodes triytbing else bat peace to the South., Tn the present con dition of tbinga, we can hope tor no good re sults from a convention ul all the States.
