T HIS A CADEMY is desigrned for those who de sire that their sons be carefully prepared for admission into the South Carolina Collene or other imilar Institutions, into the State Mil:tary Acad emy, or for the active business of life. The course'of studhies is spe cially adapted to these ends, embracing so much .of the Englisha, -Greek, Latin and French languages and the .Mathx ematics as are requisite; in all of whicih it is the aim of the Instructors that theii- Cadets become thorough masters of fundamental principles, and acquire habits of thought and self-dependence Composition and Declamation receive their due share of attention. The Cadets are drilled in the Infantry Tactics ; and the discinline of the A cademy is of the Mili tary order,-strict, inflexible and impartial. The second scholastic year will commence on the F.rst Monday in January 1859, to. continue for ten anonths exclusive of two weeks vacation in June. Candidates for admission ndust be able to read and write with facility, and not be less thant thirteen years old. Tuition, Board, Lodgings, Books, Lights and Fuel, furnished for One Hundred Dollars per Ses sion of five months, payable in advance.
