COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENE.-The Liverpool Cottoi Market was firm, with an active specu lative demand. The, lower qualities had ad vanced Id. per lb. The sales during the week ending rhursday, the 26th nit., had comprised 66,000 bales, of which speculators took 12,000, and exportera 2000,. leaving 42.000. bales of all desoriptions to. the'trade.. On Friday, the 27th nit., 12,000 bales changed hands, including 4000 topeculators and 3000 to exporters. TaR LIVERPOOL BREADSTUFFS MARKET was a trifle higher in consequence of the bad weather in England. The finer qualities of Flour had advanced Is. per bbl. 196 lbs. Wheat had ad vanced 2d. per 70 lbs. Corn was a trifle lower, and all closed on the 28th nit. less firm. THE LIVERPOOL PRovIsIqp MARKET was un changed. GENERAL INTELLIGENCE.-POlitical affairs were quiet. In the British House of Commons, Lord Palmerston declined to assume the respon sibility in a direct or indirect manner, of Ameri can affairs, as he believed that in the present state of the relations between Great Britain and the United States it would not conduce to a settlement of the points in dispute to discuss the question. The English papers contain letters from Lord Clarendon to Mr. Dallas, on the Enlistment - difficulty and Cetral American affairs, expres sing his satisfaction thi Mr. Dallas had been authorised to negotiate the settlement of -the latter question. Another Battalion of Rides had been sent to -Canada. In Spain further disturbances had occurred in Valladolid and Valencia. Russia is busilyengaged in making the de . fences of Nicolaieff and Sebastopol stronger than ever. Proclamations, encoiraging pillage and assis' sination, are being circulated throughout Italy. It is rumored qiat the King of Naples is dis posed to reject the counsels of thi Western Powers. A private interview is rumored between the Emperors of Austria and France. IMPORTANT FROM CALIFORNIA, NICARAGUA AND MEXICO. NEW ORLEASS. July 12, 1856. ' The steamship Daniel Webster has arrived at this port with San Francisco dates to the 20th uIt. The George Law takes to New York S'700.000 in specie, and despatches from the Commissioners, relative to the Isthmus difficul ties. CALIFonuiA.-There is no decrease of the .excitement at San Francisco. Very few res pond to the Governor's proclamation of June 4th. The Vigilance Committee have opened books fur recruits, and have received the namues of thousands. They have also 6000 stand of - arms and ten pieces (if artillery. Their force is divided int ten regiments. Strong breastworks have been erected in front of the Coinnittee's rooms on the top of which is an alarm bell, and there are several pieces of cannon on the adja cent roofs. Six more rogues have been banished by the Vigilance Committee, who continue their arrests. The crimes and casualties are numerous. There is no interest whatever in politics. The reports from the mines are favorable, and agricultural pursuits prosperous. OREGo'.-Indian hostilities continue in Ore ron.. Capt. Smith's command was attacked Seadows, w ith the loss f twelve killed and twea'ty-five wounded. The Indian loss was - con.idratle. Col. WVright aind one third of his -cotmmand had been killed by the Yankimia Indians. CENTR.AL A MERIA.-The advices brought by the Danietl Webser from Central America, are importaint. Gen. Walker was eleeted President of Nicr.ra gua on 24th ult.-Rivas and his Miinister of War having left Leon on the 12:hi. -Rivas afterwards appeared at Chinaudagua, collected at. force of 600 natives, called in the outposts and ordered the American troops to evacuatpe Leon. The order was obeyed, and Riv'as toh.k posses sioa of the town with 120 men. Walker ha< de clared the Rivas party traitors. The ofiileers of the former cabinet stand by Walker. A strong revolution has broken out at Costa Rica, beaded by the party that opposed the inva sion of Nicaragua. Advices from Guatemala slate that the ad vance guard of the army had arrived on the 1lit. and Santa Anna wvas cordially received. It i reported that Col. Gomez and other oflicers of' the Alexican army had gone to Guatemalia. gV' THE Congregatinnalists of Rhode island have resolved to discontinue fellowship with the Presby terians, both Old and 1New Schools.
