It is n6w evident that England' is duly sensi ble of the interests she has at stake in the pre eetvation of peace with this country, and as she has exhibited the independence of follotwing her substantial-interests in opposition to the prompt ings of popular feeling, it becomes us in any future negotiations to act with a becoming mag nanimity. - The-honor and .nedtral integrity of this country -has been fully vindicated, and to us at the South- at least, it is of the very last importance that, no unnecessary collision shall occur. We raise the sthples of which England is the mnrket, and it will not advance prosperity to close her ports, and rely upon the markets of the' itorth- for, consumption; the glory to be acquired by the arms of this country in a fo r .eign war, will -greatly strengthen the arms of the General Government, and as the power of the.General Government has now become a stake for which both sectioni play, while the North has very much the largest hands of trumplis, . we have every reaion for not letting the stake get larger until the game shall be decided. We have hesitated, from considerations of national regard,io spoak from a local point of view with respect-to th. -questions pending between the two Governments;. we were unwilling to increase the difflicultids of agreement by an exhibition of a divided council, but since the difficulty is hap. pily .over, we hope that the South will ever come up. to such emergencies with a due sense of its true iiitdrest with respect to them, and remember ever, that while we have a common government, we have also a particular scial exiitenie-to be preserved, and that it is not the whole of-patriotism to seek for too wide a rane of national advancement.-Charleston Standard NF.W ILLINOIS WrEAT.-The Chicago Tri. bune, June 27th, is informed that the area sown - with'wheat in Southern Illinois is unusually large, that the crop has been generally harvested in good condition, and, though the yield per acre is not as great as last year, the quality of the grain was never surpassed. Farmers all along the line of the road below Sandnsky, are making preparitions for threshing out their crops and getting thetm to market as early as posible.
