Fatal Diskahk among IIogs.?Mr. Allen Johnson, from Gallivants Ferry township, gives An alarming account of a latal disease going among the hogs in that section of the connty. It is not known whether it is hog-cholera or what, as that disease Iias never hereto fore prevailed in this county to an extent sufficient to give our people a correct knowledge of it. (Irown hogs seem more liable to attack than smaller ones, at least we hear more said of the loss of the larger hog*. The disease is very fatal, sweeping out whole gangs in a few day*. Mr, Johnson says that noticing a large sow, sick with this disease, lying by the fcuce, Ire took her by the ear to raise her on her feet when the hair stripped off the ear as clean as if scaUed with hot water. He says they know of no rern^l^, core, or abatement for the disease; that ho tried spirits of turpentine on one hog, pouring down him about a tca-spoon-tul ami he thinks it hastened his death. Sergt. flail went to Bagdad to see the beeves which Gen, Cortina is snipping to tjuna. Many oi them have American brands. A large pile of hides with American brands await shipment, and men assisting in their shipment say the beeves were stolen from Terns. About '*00,000 pounds dried beet ready for shipment is undoubtedly American, as Mexicans don't raise halt enough beet to supply their own market. Sergt. Ilail wui closely watched and succeeded in tsking note of only about twenty brtitds. On > Sunday morning Gen. Cortina left Hagdad with seventy-fivemen. About here cattle-stealing is terrible. Oxen jire driven off almost daily. It is reported that Gen.tOortina's resignation has been accepted. The supreme gov71 U T1 eminent is determined to remove him from the frontier, but he dees not intend to go. Report says that Gen.
