Dinieully at fair ill a 11", N. ('. From a friend at Fair I?1 u0\ N. (\, we learn that, on Wednesday evening of last week a drunken negro kicked up a disturbance at that place, which lead to a dillicully that resulted in the negro getting shot and seriously wounded, and which has created considerable excitement and feeling in that community. He was permitted to carry on in an oulragous manner for some, time, but at length becoming grossly personally insulting and offensive to runny of tlie whites, the town marshal attempted his arrest, but was resisted; the man being armed with a spoke of a wagon wheel and drawn knife became yet more abusive to the olliccr, and defiantly struck at him with his club. The olliccr sum moned a posse and again attempted his arrest. The man still defied until the crowd pressed in upon him. lie then attempted his escape, but as he ran was shot at several tunes, and arrested, seriously but it is thought not dangerously wounded. It is no surprise to n:s to learn that the old colored citizens of that place unite with the good white citizens in ' dBhdeming such conduct, on the part of either white or black, and in expressing a determination in common to support and aid in executing the law. \\ro have known many of them before and since the war.
