Teacher and children are all determined to make this the most profitable session the school has ever had. Miss Lucy Hunter of West Union is visiting Mrs. B. L. Haddon. 1 Mrs. R. R. Tolbert and family arrived on Monday from' their summer outing -at Cashiers, N. C. Mr. T. P. Tolbert spent Thursday night here. Mrs. Alma C. Gibbons met with the Home Demonstration club at Smithville on Friday afternoon. Poultry was the subject discussed. The members seemed interested and a poultry association for Smithville was discussed. Since the good season of last week farmers are busy preparing for a large acreage of grain to be sown this fall. Allen Haskell's Swimming Pool. Work has .begun on Allen Haskell's swimming pool, which will be < built in Haskells pasture and fed from spring and branch.
