Opera House Tuesday. Not that this newest Cosmopolitan Paramount picture concerns the six ties of the last century, for it is a modern story in every way. In it Miss Davies, a Quaker girl, appears at a fashionable water resort in a bathing suit that none of the young er generations would recognize ex cept as an exhibit. Miss Davies plays the part of Prudence Cole, reared in a strictly conservative atmosphere by two maiden aunts. Prudence is invited to Haven, a seaside mecca for the wealthy. Being fond of swimming she dons her bathing suit and joins her "friends" at the outdoor pool. When she removes the cape which modestly hides her costume there is astonisment. The garment was designed by a seamstress who believed it horrid to disclose more of the female formj than the face. Long bloomers reach down below the knees. The skirt is E far longer than any of modern cut. j [ Prudence looks like a figure from ? an ancient daguerrotype suddenly [ com? to life. The snoflbs cut her andj[ she is embarrassed. But Prudence'^ soon learns modern ways and she triumphs over her enemies. Robert G. Vignola directed this charming Sophie Kerr story.
