Our people were glad to have Prof B. L. Parkinson visit the town and spend a day. He was the guest of Dr. J. R. Bell, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of, the Public scnooi. Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes of Louis ville, <Ja., and Mrs. Peele, of Videfte drove through in their car to Fay etteville to the Synodical Union. They left on Monday morning teaching Fayetteville in fine shape the next evening. Dr. A. S. Wideman, of Spartan burg was here to see his mother who has nort been well for several weks. C., and Marion Kirkpaitrick of Charlotte are ex pected in Due West this week. R^v. R. C. Grier of Columbia will preach the Commencement ser mon at the Little Mountain Acad emy. Miss Lizzie Neel is the super intendent of this school which is prospering under her guiding hand, along-with a fine corps of .teachers. ' /i Mr. and Mrs. Hargett, of Char lotte, N. C., spent Monday night in Due West as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Galloway. Mr. Hargett was 'on business. This was his first trip to Due West and friends here were pleased to have this splendid family visit town. They are members of Chalmers Memorial Church. Mr. Hargett is a fine business man and succeeding in his business. Mr. and Mrs. Bernau of Concord, N. C., worshipped with the A. R. Presbyterians last Sabbath morning and heard a'good sermon which they do not always hear at Greensboro. They were the guests of Mrs. James Boyce. Time seems to be serving Mr. and Mrs Bernau. Their many friends frends in Due West were glad to see them in town again. Miss Elizabeth Seawright, who has been teaching at Fountain Inn is home from her school for the summer. She was nicely situated during the past year. The wire on Saturday brought the word that Dr. R. L. Robinson was desperately ill at Lancaster. Mrs. Robinson left immediately for Lan caster that evening. Dr. Robinson was still unconscious but had^passed the.crisis when Mrs. Robinson ar rived. On Saturday morning Dr. Robin on, who had gone over to asaist Rev. W. S. Patterson with a meeting, was in the pulpit at Shiloh, preaching when he was stricken down. He was carried out into- an automobile on the ^ooBds and after reviving some what^jwas taken to his sister's home. Feeling better he walked out on the porch and while there -had a second attack and was unconscious for sev eral hours. On Monday; morning he was able to go to Charlotte with Mrs. Robinson and to the hospital for an examination. Mrs. Robiirson, Prof Reid, Mr. J. C. Hemphill, and Mr, "Psalters, the two latter archi tects, went on .to Greensboro to ex amine a dormitory at that place, as per an appointment at the Building Committee of the Board of the Wo man's (&611ege. Dr. Robinson, at this writing, Tuesday morning is at the thehospital. The earnest hope of his many friends is that he may have a, speedy recovery. Featherstone, of Greenwood gave an eloquent talk on the subject of Education at the Methodist church here on Sunday Morning, May 15th. Our esteemed banker Mr. B. H. Smith is -building a very nice bunga low on the hill near the public school. The new Baptist parsonage is making good progress.
