NOTICE OF ELECTION t STATE OR SOUTH CAROLINA, 1 ( County of Abbeville. ! Notice is hereby given that 'the General Election for State and County Officers will be held at the ( voting precincts prescribed by law in said county on Tuesday, Novem- ^ t>er 2, 1920, said day being Tuesday ^ following the first Monday in Norenrber, as prescribed by the State ^ Constitution. 1 ^ t ^The qualification for suffrage: ' Managers of Election shall re- ^ n /-??-forincr to quire 01 every ei?.iui . vote at any election, before allowing him or her to vote, the production of his or her registration, including poll tax, assessed against him or her and collectible during the previous year. The production of a r certificate or of the receipt of the officer authorized to collect such taxes shall be conclusive proof of the payment thereof. I Section 237. ' | * On all special questions the bal-i* lot shall state the question or ques- ? tions, and shall thereafter have the ^ -words "Yes" and "No" inserted so j 1 that the voter may indicate his or} her vote by striking out one or the j * other of such words on said ballot, j t the word not so stricken out to be ; counted. ^ Before the hour fixed for opening I the polls, Managers and Clerks must take and subscribe the Consti- 1 tational oath. The Chairman of the t Board of Managers can administer c the oath to the other members and i to the Clerk; A Notary Public must ' administer the oath to the Chairman. The Managers elect their t Chairman and Clerk. t Polls at each voting place must is opened at 7 o'clock a. m. and dosed at 4 o'clock p. m., except in ifee city of Charleston, where they ^?ail be opened at 7 a. m., and liosed at 6 p. m. The Managers have the power to fiH a vacancy, and if none of the Managers attend, the citizens can appoint from among the qualified roters the Managers, who, after being sworn can conduct the election. At the close of the election the Managers and Clerk must proceed . publicly to open the ballot boxes and ebont the ballots therein, and continue without adjournment until the same is completed, and make a statement of the result for each office and sien the same. Within three 4mjs thereafter the Chairman of the Board, or some one designated by 1 the Board, must deliver to the Com- ! anissioners of Election the poll list, "Hie boxes containing the ballots and 1 written statements of the results of ' tte election.
