There was a good attendance of the daughters and there I were several invited guests. The ; first work of the Daughters this j winter will be to look after the preservation of the two fine trees on 'Secession Hill under which the fami |ous meeting of Secession was held, j These trees will be enclosed with a (small granite coping and suitably marked that the passer-by may know their historic story. F/Black, formerly of Abbeville, but now of Chicago, is ill with pneumonia in a hospital in his home city. He has been sick for more than a week, but improves. Mr. and Mrs. Black were here on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Jas. S. Cochran and Miss Hannah Cochran and other relatives only about a month ago.
