Shaw was in the city Friday shaking hands with his J friends. The Captain is looking well ind feeling fit. Since he was here before he tells us that he has received many letters from friends sver the county urging him to make the race for the legislature, and that he has been seen in person by i good many others who would likd to see him in the legislative halls in Columbia. He is giving the matter a j ? 1 _ J ! 11 J - I serious consideration ana win uende shortly whether or not he will snter the race. He tells us that the voters in his section are enrolling fairly well there being about 165 names on Club !sro. 2 at Lowndesville, with a few!, nore to be enrolled. He thinks the :nrollment in Lowndesville town-^ ship will be materially increased ;his year over two years ago. The crops in his section, he says, ire good, but the rains of the , last( ;wo weeks /have kept the farmers :rom work, and there is still some^1 vork to be done. BACK FROM BATTLE CREEK Col.
