CAPT. SHAW IN TOWN
Capt. W. C. Shaw was in the city
Friday shaking hands with his J
friends. The Captain is looking well
ind feeling fit. Since he was here
before he tells us that he has received
many letters from friends

the race for the legislature, and
that he has been seen in person by

occasionally a teaspoonful of some
vegetable and the price table
board $50 a week. The colonel says
it is a fine place for people not in
good health or suffering from dyspep- sia
but that it is a mighty poor plade
for a healthy man to spend his vaca- \
tion. He says he couldn't resist .the
call of watermelons and roast'n ears
any longer and deserted the party
Wednesday. Col. Cleckley says that
Mrs. Calvert 1s much better a?d continues
