Kennedy and Mrs. Paul Kennedy returned last Friday after a week's visit to relatives in Portsmouth, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Conner EJanvey returned with them and have been in Abbeville County visiting relatives. The latter leaves today to return to Portsmouth. Here for the Wedding Miss Lucia Featherstone arrived in Abbeville Saturday and will take part in the Haskell?Fair wedding Tuesday. A Sick Little Girl Annie Hemphill, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Rogers, has teen quite sick since Saturday with jiphtheria. She is improving now. A Birthday Dinner Mrs. M. T. Coleman entertained a iriends at dinner Saturday evening it her lovely home on Greenville street. After dinner was over Mrs. lis. Coleman announced that it was ler birthday, but as the candles were imitted from the otherwise elegant ake, we are unprepared to say just vhich one it was. At any rate her friends wish for her many, many lappy returns of the day. Among ;hose who enjoyed Mrs. Coleman's lospitality were: Dr. and Mrs. G. A. Meuffer, Major and Mrs. J. D. Fulp, iliss Annie Doty,of Wjnnsboro, and aw and grandchildren from Troy and Sreenville. Miss Lynch Leaves Us. Miss Johnnine May Lynch, teacher jf English in the High School, will leave us at the end of the present school year. She goes to Waynesville, N. C., where she has been elected teacher of mathematics and science in the High School. Miss Lynch is a capable teacher in any department. Her work in the English department of our schools has been exceptionally good, but she prefers to teach mathematics in ivhich she is most proficient. During ;he three years she has been in the \bbeville schools her work for the schools has been untiring. She has aken an active part in everything :ooking to the betterment of the schools here, and has been interested 11 the welfare and progress of the jupils under her charge. The school lere will miss her. Entertaining the Bride Miss Sarah Haskell was the guest >f honor at a lovely party given Saturday afternoon by Mrs. T. G. iVhite at her home on Greenville ftreet. The house was a perfect bow;r of flowers, the color scheme being fellow, and Lady Banksia roses beng user in the decorations. The guests were received by Mrs. ?? ? T* C _ 1 Vhite, Miss Haskell, Mrs. lukl maury ind Mrs. C. A. Milford, and bridge md rook were played throughout the ifternoon. Salads, fruit charlotte and mint iherbet were served by the pretty laughters of the household at the dose of the games. THE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL Dr. J. C.
